Take part in Petworth House's spring clean!

To celebrate its reopening, country house and park, Petworth House, West Sussex will be hosting a range of events in February. For the first time ever visitors  will be able to paint on the walls or help with the spring clean!

The house will also be offering exclusive guided tours through the Parkland once painted by JMW Turner, and into the attic rooms that were used by generations of Petworth Servants.

Events include:

Quiet Industry
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February
Time: 11am – 3:30pm
Guests can learn a few tips on household management.

Normal grounds admission applies.

Half term activities
Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 February
Time: 11am – 3pm
Children can explore the magical world of Petworth Park where they will be bringing the outside, inside! An entire room will be turned into a giant white canvas for guests to add their own version of the spring time park with Inside, Outside, In. Normal rules don’t apply; draw on the walls, floors and even on the tabletops!,

Normal grounds admission plus £3 per child.

Nightwatch on the South Downs
Thursday 16 February
Time: 6pm-9pm
Get expert advice from Dr John Mason MBE, take a peek through one of their telescopes and see a guided laser show, guaranteed to leave you starry eyed.

Parking in Petworth town, free event.
   
Dusty Footsteps
Saturday 18, Tuesday 21and Saturday 25,February
Join a tour up the creaking staircase to the attic rooms, once used by Petworth’s servants.

Booking essential, normal grounds admission plus £4.

A Painters Park
Sunday 19th and Sunday 26th February
Time: 11am
Enjoy some fresh air whilst stepping out into Petworth’s magnificent deer park to experience the landscape created by "Capability” Brown and painted by JMW Turner.

Booking is essential £20 per person includes a delicious roast lunch in the Restaurant.

The Pleasure Grounds, Coffee Shop and Gift Shop re-open on Saturday 11th February and the House will open from Saturday 10th March.
