Save the Children
Save the Children’s November Gift Fair
Once again the Petersfield Save the Children branch is setting out its programme of events in the hope it can surpass last year’s total of over £38,000. For a rural town branch its dedicated team of volunteers and wide ranging supporters continue to rally for those less fortunate than ourselves. The final event of last year was the Christmas Concert at Churchers College which raised over £1400.

Here are some dates for your calendar, with more information on each event nearer the time.

•    Save a Child from your Attic!  An auction in aid of Save the Children on Saturday 10th March at Nicholson's auction rooms at Fernhurst.  Viewing will be held the day before on Friday 9th when several of the SCF volunteers will be at the sale rooms providing tea/coffee etc.

This is one of their regular Saturday auctions but on this particular date everything donated to Save the Children will be sold free of commission and all proceeds given to Save the Children.  Their catalogue will list in red the items donated for the charity. If you have an item of furniture, china, glass or jewellery that you could donate Nicholsons will catalogue it and sell it at auction for SCF. The kind of items they are suggesting are gilt frame mirrors, pictures, coffee tables, small stools, clocks or jewellery that maybe cluttering up your home & your children will never want in their house!

Nicholsons already have a certain amount of items for this sale, but you may contact them to see if anything further is required.

•    Bridge Lunch at Marco Pierre White’s restaurant in Fernhurst on 17th May They have a beautiful barn attached to the pub which they have generously offered to us and in May the grounds should be full of spring flowers. It is a delightful spot – not sure non-bridge players will have time to learn before then BUT if you do have bridge playing friends do let them know

And finally............

•    The tried & tested Good As New Clothes Sale will be on 26-28 April and we hope to see many of you there. As usual the venue is the Petersfield Festival Hall, timings as follows to encourage as many people to attend.
Thursday 26 April – 9.30am-7.30pm
Friday 27 April – 9.30am – 6pm
Saturday April – 9.30am-1pm
