Petersfield cricketers in fine form

Petersfield travelled to St Mary Bourne on Saturday and had another emphatic win by eight wickets. This builds on their recent strong performances in the league.
Taking into account the weather, skipper Ash Spencer inserted the opposition reaping instant rewards with Christie Salmon dismissing the dangerous Chislett in the eighth over.
Salmon and Caddick picked up a wicket apiece leaving the hosts on 70 for 3 after 14 overs. Chris Russell and Wood slowed the game down keeping the run rate low whilst picking up a couple of wickets St Mary Bourne finishing on 191 for 5.
After a slow start by Petersfield Spencer accerelated the run rate before falling for a quickfire 20 in the ninth over. Andy Salmon, along with Billy Maisey batted superbly putting on 91 for the second wicket. Salmon was looking for a second successive century against St Mary Bourne.
Maisey fell in the 26th over for a classy 42 bringing Jack Hannam to the crease. Salmon and Hannam put on 73 in just 9 overs, both finishing undefeated, on 84 and 39 respectively.
