Haslemere's Inaugural Town Criers Competition will take place in the Haslemere Museum during the Charter Fair on the 7 of May Bank Holiday Monday.
The winner of the annual event will be awarded the bronze statue, depicting a 17th Lancer prior to the Charge of the Light Brigade.
Talking about the prize, Haslemere Town Crier Christian Ashdown said, "This is very generous of John and Kate. Not only for donating this wonderful prize, but taking time out during a busy time as they prepare to relocate to new business premises."
So far 15 town criers have registered for the competition from around the country to come to Haslemere on the first Monday in May and will be judged on their town crying skills and dress. They will also assist in the opening of the fair at 1pm.
"This competition will add a dash of colour to the fair" said the Town Crier 'Not to mention a fair bit of noise!'
